Clinical Radiologists (CR), based in Springfield, Illinois, is seeking a fellowship-trained Neurointerventional Radiologist to join our established NIR team to support our largest tertiary hospital’s comprehensive stroke center.
CR represents an established radiology practice of more than 70 radiologists, most of whom have additional sub-specialty training. The group is one of the largest in the nation, providing radiology coverage to 32 hospitals and more than 40 clinics throughout central Illinois and in parts of Indiana, Iowa and Missouri.
While this is a private practice position, there is a clinical academic appointment within radiology, neurology and neurosurgery at Southern Illinois University (SIU) School of Medicine. The University has an active ACGME accredited residency program.

- Springfield | The hospital, Memorial Medical Center (MMC), is a 500-bed tertiary care hospital in Springfield,
Illinois, and is one of eight Illinois hospitals to achieve the comprehensive stroke designation.
MMC’s Comprehensive Stroke Center benefits from close linkages with SIU’s Neuroscience Institute, MMC’s Emergency Medical Department, Neuromuscular Sciences, and Medical Imaging service lines, as well as with SIU School of Medicine. Memorial’s rehabilitation program is nationally recognized, with five concurrent accreditations by CARF (The Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities) including inpatient stroke and brain injury specialization. Neuroimaging support is excellent, with two 3.0 Tesla and one 1.5 Tesla MRI units on the main campus, and 128 Slice CT dedicated to the Emergency Department. The program also has a history of successful grant funding for equipment and program development, as well as educational outreach.

MMC is the market leader in its service area, with approximately 67% market share in neurosciences. Designated a Level I Trauma Center, MMC’s Emergency Department provided 70,290 visits in FY2016, with an additional 93,795 visits provided in its three affiliated urgent care centers.
